STISIM Drive G4 Makes Public Debut

Our team is home and feeling fantastic after our most successful AOTA Inspire Conference & Expo yet. It was a delight to be on hand in Kansas City, Missouri, as an exhibitor, sponsor, event organizer and speaker at the world’s largest annual gathering for the occupational therapy community.

After a few years of COVID-impacted attendance, it was great to once again see thousands of practitioners, administrators, educators and students. We had the good fortune of welcoming many of them into our booth, where we were excited to show off STISIM Drive G4, our next generation of driving simulation technology for clinical therapy.

“What an amazing setting and audience for our product debut,” said Fran Nelbach, Director of Product Development for Systems Technology Inc., makers of STISIM Drive. “We have OT practitioners, administrators and academics in attendance but one of the biggest reasons we come to Inspire is for the students as they represent the future of OT.  It is incredibly rewarding to engage with smart, curious young people who are excited about what they can do with our technology. They learn from us and we learn what they feel they need for assessment, intervention and independence for their patients. It energizes our entire team.”

The all-new STISIM Drive G4 proved to a popular demo on the expo floor.

Attendees were eager to get in the driver’s seat of our M4000 Console, experiencing first-hand a powerful tool that can empower clinicians to better deliver on assessment, intervention and independence for their patients. It was a great setting to not only show off the improved realistic graphics and scenarios, but also the powerful reporting capabilities that G4 offers, a potent combination that takes patient engagement and outcomes to a higher level; while offers administrators an amazing return on their investment.

In addition to exhibiting, it was our extreme honor to sponsor, organize and participate in the world premiere of Rhiannon Crispe’s documentary, Finding Me In OT, which is a one-hour documentary about finding your passion and purpose within the occupational therapy profession. The screening took place inside the elegant City Beautiful Ballroom of the Lowes Kansas City Hotel, where nearly 200 attendees showed up to view this powerful film made by an OT, for OTs.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity that the team from STISIM Drive created,” said Crispe. “It was a massive undertaking, so I truly appreciate their effort, as well as all the amazing OTs that showed up to support and learn from my film.”

Audience at AOTA film screening
200 Inspire attendees came out for the world premiere of Finding Me In OT.

We also organized a panel discussion that featured Rhiannon remotely from Australia; Kavita Murthi (OTR/PhD), who appeared in the film; and our Senior Clinical Specialist, Bridget Mathis (MOT/OTR), who served as the moderator. It was an engaging discussion that included thoughtful questions from Bridget and the audience. With only 30 minutes, the big takeaway was that we all wanted more time to continue the conversation on the important topics raised in the film. It’s with great pleasure that we will soon be offering an online panel discussion, via Zoom. It will 100% free and fully open to the public, so stay tuned for more details.

We thank all those that visited our booth and attended the film screening, and we are extremely grateful for all the great feedback and interest in our G4 product. For over 65 years our core focus at STI has been on helping make individuals and communities safer. We came away from our interactions at Inspire ‘23 with the knowledge that we’ll be collaborating with the clinicians at an even higher level to do exactly that.
