2023: A Year-In-Review and A Look Ahead

Another year is complete, but what a year 2023 proved to be. It was full of great milestones and events, and it really set the stage for what is shaping up to be an exciting 2024.

Back in April, we were delighted to debut STISIM Drive G4, the next generation of our driving simulation technology for healthcare professionals. Although we’ve been the simulation solution of choice for over 20 years, we invested into taking our suite of products to a whole new level.

“G4 was a game changer, providing occupational therapists, physical therapists and other healthcare practitioners, with the most powerful tool in the market for assessment and rehabilitation of patients,” said Sanjeev Weerasuriay, President & CEO of Systems Technology, Inc., makers of STISIM Drive. “The improvements we made – both to hardware and software – were profound, expanding and improving what was already the best-in-class solution.”

Those sentiments were never more clear once we debuted STISIM DRive G4 at the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Inspire Conference & Expo, which was held in Kansas City, Missouri, April 21 – 23.

We provided over 100 demos at Inspire ‘23, which allowed us to showcase it to educators, OT professionals and OT students alike. In addition, we worked with Australian OT and author, Rhiannon Crispe to present the world premiere of her documentary film, Finding Me In OT. Over 250 conference attendees showed up, with most sticking around for a great panel discussion that featured Rhiannon, Kavita Murthi (OTR/PhD), and our very own clinical therapy specialist, Bridget Mathis (MOT/OTR).

From there we were off and running for the summer, with numerous installs around the country, as well as a follow-up online panel discussion with Rhiannon, Kavita and Bridget. So many OTs around the world had contacted us telling us how disappointed they were to not have been able to attend the event at Inspire ‘23, so we knew we had to offer an online version, which drew over 200 attendees and has now been viewed online by thousands of practitioners.

We then hit the road again in the fall for two more major conferences and tradeshows. First up was the Auto Mobility Expo (AME), September 30 to October 2, in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s held in conjunction with the annual conferences of the premiere professional and trade associations in the industry, the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA).

Next up was the annual Education Conference & Expo from the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA), in Dallas, Texas, October 15 – 18. This was our first time exhibiting at this important event, which draws a large number of attendees from the leadership ranks of healthcare rehabilitation providers.

It truly was a year to behold, and we sincerely thank our entire team, our customers and our partners. All the hard work and collaboration has really given us the foundation for an amazing 2024. As a product of Systems Technology, Inc., a company with more than 65 years of innovation success, we could not be more excited about the future of STISIM Drive.

There’s plenty of new developments coming, and we certainly look forward to seeing everybody at this year’s events, so stay tuned!
